A quality control plan consists of all the techniques that are employed to make sure that deliverables are consistent and actually meet the specification of the customers.

For successful project management the quality process must be integrated into all phases of the project.

Phases of preliminary studies

Quality at the preliminary stage will revolve around the studies that are conducted and the proper assessment that is made of the customer needs. A quality control plan should also make sure that the solution that is being provided is coherent with the overall aspect of the project- whether it is the preliminary study or at the definition of the requirements.

Implementation phase

At the implementation stage the quality control plan will be concerned about the verification of the methodology used to make sure that it is done according to the specifications.

Test stage

The test phase will be all able verifying whether the deliverables, in this case, applications matches the requirements of the customers.

Control

Make sure that adequate control system is set up to make sure that everything falls in place. The test should be adapted to the particular project.

Independent audit

During the test phase, it is important to repeat some tests at random by another person to limit the risk of error.

Monitoring remedial actions

The irregularities detected during the test phases should bring about some changes in the process and makes up the lesson learned database. It is important that that new tests be carried out to make sure that the corrections really work.
